  2. love this site! I am program coordinator for our guild, Northern Piecemakers, Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. Can we get permission to use your block of the month? We want to do a year long color challenge with a team orientation and your blocks would be an awesome fit! Hoping that key color concepts can be taught to our members with fun!!!

  4. Thank you so much for these tutorials. Since I’m a visual learner these videos taught me a lot.
May you have a very haapy Christmas and a very healthy and prosperous New Year.

    1. Thanks, Leslie. We try to make sure there is some good info (and some inspiring visuals) in each post. Please help us spread the word by telling your friends about us too. Darra

    1. Thanks for the kind words, Shirl. Keep an eye on the site for future previews: Sue heading back to school, celebrating the holidays, and more. To see all 12 little Sue quilts, visit the Martingale site at We had so much fun making these quilts, and know you will too. Hope you’ll send photos! Darra

      1. I just found your sight. Thank you so much for the block of the month pattern. I am new at this. Could you tell me if you are using fat quarters for this and if so how many do I need. Thanks again.

      2. Hi Alice,
I’m not using fat quarters – but you certainly could. For the blocks, you need the equivalent of about forty – 2 1/2″ strips (WOF) or 2 3/4 yd. So seven fat quarters would work just fine. Let me know how you’re coming along when you get a few blocks made.
